Time Management is impossible!

It sounds like Time Management should work doesn’t it?  Just the way we talk about time suggests we should be able to “MANAGE” it, use it when we want, how we want …

Spend time … save time … lose time … gain time … split time … make time … time keeper … time share … time and a half … short of time … take time … give time … ahead of time … behind time … lots of times … time and again … take your time …

But that’s not how it works!

You cannot manage time!  It’s a misnomer.  The label “Time Management” tricks us into believing we can. 

We want to be able to manage time because it would make our lives easier … if we could stop time for a while, maybe take a bit from here and put an extra little bit in there, now that would make a difference. 

Perhaps we could have a time bank … you know, save some time in our time account and then pop to the ATM (Automatic Time Machine) and take a bit out when we’re having one of those days when everything seems to take a bit longer than we expected – brilliant.

So while we’re waiting for someone very clever, with “time on their hands” to design the “Time Bank App” and having decided that Time Management is impossible we need an alternative.
